*Red grapes*
– *Tempranillo* – Spain’s “noble grape”. Main grape in Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Early ripening, full-bodied, flavors of plum and strawberry. Also called Tinta del País, Tinto Fino, Cencibel.
– *Garnacha/Grenache* – One of the most widely planted in the world, said to originate in Spain. Loves hot, dry Mediterranean climates. Spicy red berry notes, soft tannins.
